I have decided I am not going to have boutique open house this season due to lack of time to prepare but don't be sad! I am going to be hosting a HUGE sale on some of the basic items I have carried in the past. All crochet 1 1/2 inch headbands are $1.00 while supplies last. The larger 3 inch headbands are $1.50 while supplies last as well.

During the holidays we are often trying to find that perfect hair accessory for our little princess. Something that matches that perfect holiday dress or outfit. So starting this weekend (November 20th) I will be taking appointments for custom orders. Bring the outfit with you and I can make you a custom layered hair bow, flower or headband to match. If you are in a hurry take a picture of the dress, email it to me at thelittleprincessbowtique@gmail.com with your thoughts on what you want and I will create something special just for you. Prices will not go up for this event either! Layered custom hair bows $5 and flowers range from $5 on down to $2 depending on size. All headbands are on sale as well and don't forget about those $1.00 crochet headbands.

This week is crazy! All week The Little Princess Bowtique will be down at the Country Carousel Boutique at Provo High-

Tuesday, August 18th and goes until Friday August 21st. It is open the following hours.
Tuesday-Thursday: 10am to 9pm
Friday: 10am to 7pm
Provo High is located at 1125 North University Avenue.

Then on Saturday the 22nd will be The Little Princess Bowtique open house! It runs from 11-5 (email me at thelittleprincessbowtique@gmail.com for directions if you don't already have them)
and we have included some really fun vendors/friends this time. Come enjoy The Orchid and some 10 minute seated massages courtesy of Body Kneads Massage. Also, Lee will be there with her amazing art! In the next week I will finish up the final details on my fall line of bows, flowers and headbands. I will be debuting these items for sale at my open house (which we just added 2 new vendors/companies to the line up so it should be a fun open house! More on that to come the first week of August). Sneak peak to come soon! Best of all I will have an entire line of "uniform" matching items. Uniforms are so blah but your hair accessories don't have to be too! Crochet hats, layered bows, clippies, sequin flowers and more all in the uniform colors of Khaki, white and navy blue! I am very excited about this!

Jackie had cute cute bags with all kinds of pockets. Kaylynn had amazing jewelry and I picked up a matching bracelet for Makayla. Lee had the most amazing brooches/pins and beautiful...........well I don't know what to really call them but they are AMAZING! I need to get a picture to show you. I ordered one, they look like mobiles but that doesn't even do it justice! Bonnie's sister had the cutest crowns and charms. Shauna had amazing booties for babies made out of felt and other great fabrics. Her stuff is just amazing! Maddie had beautiful prints made of some of her photo shoots and the most amazing little business cards that look like polaroids! With spring comes new and beautiful flowers in our gardens. It doesn't have to stop there! A whole new line of hair flowers will be in by the end of May. Let me know what you think of these. All 4 of these flowers are just under 4 inches wide so they are perfect for all ages. I know it is hard to see with the rose (bottom one) but there are sheer organza petals peaking out from the beautiful silky rose petals.

The Bridal Collection

I have recently fallen in love with wedding hair flowers. My brother is getting married very soon and his soon to be wife was kind enough to allow me to make her a one of a kind hair piece made from antique silk flowers. I had so much fun with it I just couldn't stop! So out of that came what will become the bridal collection. Chloe (the soon to be bride) helped me with some of the creative process, I am thinking of calling the bridal collection "Chloe's Corner".......just a thought? What do you think? Of course I will have to run it by her first ;)

I can't wait to see all the girls at the wedding in their one of a kind flowers. It will be neat to see their personality come out because we created about 10 of them and so each girl gets to choose. I will update with pictures very soon.

My shipment will be coming in very soon for INFANT CROCHET BEANIES. This is very exciting! There are 8 colors available (red, navy blue, white, cream, black, brown, hot pink and light pink). I will have a limited supply for the first little bit since this is a brand new product. I will have pictures up as soon as they come in. I am so excited about them, they are adorable!

P.S. these are not the beanies that are made out of the same material as the crochet headbands.

Save Small Business From the CPSIA

In 2007, large toy manufacturers who outsource their production to China and other developing countries violated the public's trust. They were selling toys containing dangerously high lead content, unsafe small parts, and chemicals that made kids sick.The United States Congress rightly recognized that the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) lacked the authority and staffing to prevent dangerous toys from being imported into the US. So, they passed the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) in August 2008. Among other things, the CPSIA bans lead and phthalates in children's products, mandates third party testing and certification, and requires manufacturers of all goods for children under the age of 12, to permanently label each item with a date and batch number.All of these changes will be fairly easy for large, multinational companies to comply with. Large manufacturers who make thousands of units of each item have very little incremental cost to pay for testing and updating their systems to include batch labels. Small businesses however, will likely be driven out of business by the costs of mandatory testing, to the tune of as much as $4,000 or more per item. And the few larger manufacturers who still employ workers in the United States face increased costs to comply with the CPSIA, even though American-made toys had nothing to do with the toy safety problems of 2007.Anyone who produces or sells any of the following new or used items will be required to comply with the law: toys, books, clothing, art, educational supplies, materials for the learning disabled, bicycles, and more. Any uncertified item intended for children under the age of 12 will be considered contraband after February 10, 2009. It will be illegal to sell or give these items away to charities, and the government will require their destruction or permanent disposal, resulting in millions of tons of unnecessary waste, and placing an enormous strain on our landfills.There is a clear disconnect between the sweeping nature of this law, and the narrow range of products that were problematic in 2007. The CPSIA applies standards that were put in place in reaction to the sale of toys contaminated with lead paint and toxic plastics. Rather than focus on these materials, this law places a guilty until proven innocent mentality on all children's product producers by imposing mandatory testing and certification, and in the process will kill an entire industry.Thriving small businesses are crucial to the financial health of our nation. Let's amend the CPSIA so that all businesses large and small are able to comply and survive!

Taking a short vacation...........

My first love/hobby is making beautiful children's accessories but I have to put that love on hold. I have a full time job working in the real estate industry and we are in the middle of a full blown refinance boom. Working late, skipping lunches etc. has become reality for me so I am putting things on hold for January. Hopefully I will be able to spend more time on my little business/hobby in the spring.
